Jerry Weintraub, When I Stop Talking, You’ll Know I’m Dead: Useful Stories from a Persuasive Man
Now that we got that out of the way, I wanted to share an audiobook that I’ve finished today. It’s called “When I Stop Talking, You’ll Know I’m Dead: Useful Stories from a Persuasive Man“ by Jerry Weintraub with Rich Cohen and, my favorite part, read by Jerry Weintraub.
I didn’t think much when picking out this book. I have never heard of the name Jerry Weintraub before, but I liked the subtitle, “Useful Stories from a Persuasive Man.” I liked stories and wanted to be persuasive.
It contains life stories of Jerry Weintraub and how he was able to work with Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, John Denver and alike, befriend US presidents, and produce Karate Kid and remake of Ocean’s series. What I really liked about the book was his authenticity throughout his life. There’s a part where he meets with a powerful man in Chicago, where the first words exchanged were fuck you for not greeting him properly after being for 3 hours of waiting, which brought them close.
